Outstanding! When my Mom died my sister and I found over 400 letters in the attic of our house that my Dad had written my Mom during the war. We never knew they existed. It took me about two years to transcribe them all (my father's handwriting was abysmal!). It was not only a history lesson, but an incredible love story. I knew that my Dad loved my Mom, but, Wow! He worshiped the ground she walked on.
Just ordered your book and loved looking through Anne Schmidt's copy while they are here visiting. I can imagine what an exhausting job you had but it was done with so much love. I can hardly wait to sit and read it. I will treasure my brother's legacy.

I cannot wait to read this book! Uncle Bud was one of my favorite men growing up and I loved listening to him. I am the son of Mary LaClair Fisher - your cousin. Thanks for the long hours and for sharing this great story with the world.
